in this video {843} 2 Two Switch Forward Converter Topology or two-transistor forward converter design, i explained that it is almost similar to single switch forward converter topology except that it don’t have tertiary or reset winding, and it contains two switching devices. so that maximum voltage stress of the switch in a forward converter can be limited to a value equal to the input voltage, both switches Q1 and Q2 are controlled by the same gate drive signal. In the
turn on time when the switches Q1 and Q2 are ON for a TON period, the input voltage VIN is applied to the transformer primary. During the TON period, the magnetizing current plus the reflected output inductor current flows through the transformer primary and the switches Q1 and Q2.
At the end of the ON period, when the switches are turned OFF, the flux stored inside the magnetic core induces a voltage in the reverse direction to the transformer primary winding, which forward-biases the diodes D1 and D2, and provides a path to the magnetizing current to reset the core. The voltage VIN is applied across the transformer primary winding in the
reverse direction. If there is no leakage inductance in the transformer T1, the voltage across primary winding would be equal to VIN, and the maximum blocking voltage across the switch is VIN. When the magnetizing current reaches zero, diodes D1 and D2 become reverse-biased and remain zero for the rest of the switching period. The secondary side operation of the two-switch forward converter is the same as the operation of single switch forward converter explained in my last video number 842 https://youtu.be/pTqIrRa7Fgg

Years ago when we took in a piece of equipment in the lab I worked in, if it had a switcher in it everybody would roll their eyes and try to get the next guy to work on it.
